MerahPutih.com (20/9/2017) | Hyundai Engineering and Construction and Cirebon Power built livable houses for 14 residents in three villages, namely Waruduwur Village, Kanci Village, and Kanci Kulon Village, Cirebon Regency, West Java.
The assistance was part of the Hyundai and Cirebon Power corporate social responsibility (CSR) program.
In implementing this program, Hyundai and Cirebon Power were collaborating with the non-profit Habitat for Humanity Indonesia, which focuses on building livable homes.
“This program provides opportunities for the community to enjoy a comfortable life. Our focus is the community around the power plant area,” said Cirebon Power Director Teguh Haryono in Waruduwur Village, Mundu District, Cirebon, Tuesday (19/9).
In addition to houses, assistance was also provided in the form of bathing, washing and toilet facilities (MCK), basic training in construction, waste management. This form of assistance was determined after a Habitat study related to community needs.
“We also give appreciation to Hyundai for the initiative to make this program. We will always support this program to provide good environmental quality for the citizens,” Teguh said.
He hoped that this assistance could be useful for the community. Especially, the residents who previously lived at home were not fit with the condition of leaking during heavy rains and the absence of toilets.
Moreover, Teguh also hoped that the houses and MCK facilities that have been built can be maintained by the community so they can be used for a long time.
