Berita1Cirebon.com (5/10/2018) | Cirebon Power, a private clean coal power plant company in Cirebon Regency, West Java, is developing Terasi House as an effort to support the development of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in Cirebon, which is one of the largest producers of shrimp paste in Indonesia. President Director of Cirebon Power Heru Dewanto in Jakarta said Friday that Terasi House as a community economic empowerment program has been started since 2014.
The Terasi House Program produces organic terasi products that are sold directly, through local industry exhibitions, both in Cirebon to the national level, and through online on various shopping sites, he said.
Heru said the program involved residents around the power plant, and collaborated with Cirebon academics.
“At present, businesses in the Terasu House can already be independent. In the future, we will develop it again by cooperating with an affiliated finance micro finance ’financial institution, so that more citizens can benefit,” Heru said.
He hopes that Terasi House, which is one of the company’s CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) programs, can provide more economic effects to the people of Cirebon.
“Mothers in Cirebon get additional decent income. In addition, we also have fostered batik craftsmen. So, employees or contractors can use batik from local craftsmen that we build, “he said.
In addition to Terasi House, Cirebon Power also developed several leading CSR programs including the Electricity Vocational Center and Mangrove Planting.
