Cirebon Power is Ready to Provide Power Supply during Eid

Liputan6.com (12/6/2018) | PT Cirebon Electric Power (Cirebon Power) as an independent power producer (IPP) from the Cirebon 660 Mega Watt (MW) Coal Fired Power Plant (PLTU) is ready to secure the Lebaran electricity supply for the regions of Java, Madura and Bali (Jamali).

Cirebon Power President Director Heru Dewanto said, the government and stakeholders, such as the electricity industry, maintain that the atmosphere of Eid al-Fitr is conducive. Not only about transportation and infrastructure, electrical energy needs must also be maintained during Lebaran.

Cirebon Power is also ready to secure electricity supply during this year’s Eid. “Cirebon Power is ready to operate the 660 MW Cirebon PLTU during Lebaran. The power plant is unending, “Heru said, in Jakarta, Tuesday (06/12/2018).

Electricity demand during Eid has decreased because the industry and offices are not operating. Therefore, the Cirebon PLTU will adjust the decline.

The electricity supply from the Cirebon PLTU will be adjusted to the electricity demand from PT PLN (Persero).

“So Cirebon continues to operate to maintain electricity despite a reduction in demand during Lebaran. Usually, the reduction in electricity demand can reach 50 percent. It all depends on PLN, “said Heru.

The operation of the power plant on Eid does not disrupt the company’s finances. According to him, operational costs and others were compiled within a year.

The reduced demand for electricity also reduces the use of generating fuel, namely coal. The public also does not need to worry about pollution problems.

“That Cirebon 660 MW PLTU is an environmentally friendly PLTU using super critical technology,” he said.

The Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) ensured that electricity supply ahead of and during Eid al-Fitr will be safe. During this period, the average electricity usage decreased.

“The pattern of D-4 to D-4 + Lebaran decreases electricity consumption both in Java Bali and nationally,” said Director General of Electricity at the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources Andy Noorsaman Sommeng on Saturday, June 9, 2018.

Andy added that during the Lebaran holiday period PLN could rest its power plants. “There are 18 power plants that are not running. That’s approximately 7,700 Megawatts. That’s big, you know. So there are around 10,000 Megawatts,” said Andy.

In addition to the adequacy of electricity supply, increasing the safety of electricity infrastructure is the main thing because it is part of a national vital object.
